How it all began…

Eduardo & Ilse

— How They First Met.

Once upon a Labor Day weekend, four years ago, a mutual friend brought Ilse and Eduardo together. Their first meeting was filled with volleyball, laughter, and Ilse’s famous homemade chocolate cake… which, somehow, remained uneaten!

A year later, Eduardo gathered up his courage and invited Ilse to a sunflower field. Little did he know, sunflowers were her absolute favorite! But before he could whisk her away, he had to face the whole family waiting outside her door, awaiting the classic dad interrogation and Yosi interrogation.

Thankfully, Eduardo survived! Together, they picked a whole bucket of sunflowers, and somewhere between the golden petals and the butterflies in their hearts, their love story began to bloom.

And from that day on, the rest was history.

Pass Lake

— Dating.

‍ ‍On November 6th, 2022, they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Days were filled with learning how to eat tortillas with frijoles, endless laughs, long study sessions, trips to mountains, traveling to different states, and learning to love between it all.

From meeting each other when Ilse began nursing school, and Eduardo still trying to figure out he’s future. They developed a bond that been tested through trials and tribulations of everyday life, which has only deepen their love for one another.

As they continue to live their little adventures they slowly began to realize they both didn’t want to live in the dating phase forever….They both felt certain what they wanted to come next in life.

Fun fact: Eduardo never drank coffee until he met Ilse. Now they go to coffeeshops everywhere they go!

— Proposal.

On July 12th, 2026 Eduardo took Ilse on a “picnic” date up to Pass lake in Keystone, Colorado. Surprisingly, Ilse was oblivious to what Eduardo had planned months prior with their photographer. They showed up to an empty lake in 40 degree weather. Eduardo led Ilse to the spot designated for the big question. Once they reached it, Eduardo kneeled down….

She said YES!

And the rest is history….
